Description

Entirely drawn in Photoshop, reference only for hand holding glass. All brushes used were free for everyone to use for any work, i just don't remember where i got them from.

So, finally i can post something i worked on with effort and emotion. And it turned out how i wanted it to.

I think at some time in your life you have to face your own failure and make a decision. You feel pain, everyone feels pain. The question is, what do you do now? Do you turn it into sadness, depression, despair? do you give up? or do you turn it into anger, new energy and the will to change things, to do better next time?

I'd like to dedicate this work to important people in my life, the people who help me make my choice all the time. i apologize for all the times my thoughtlessness put you into situations you shouldn't have been in. And I thank you for being patient with me and forgiving me stupid behaviour. I couldn't think of any people better to party with, to talk to, to chill with, to fool around with.
thank you for being my friends, you know who you are.
I love you.

I like the colors you used in this piece. Makes for a nice mood.

I think the forearm is too short though.

Not too fond of the cut off parts at the top and right side.

the concept and colors and the composition are really good, Lia, but careful with the anatomy! the forearm is much too short, the butt looks quite flat..it's a shame to have that kind of mistakes on an otherwise powerful piece. i'd suggest asking someone to pose for you and taking pictures of them for reference, or simply using yourself as reference.

Ah, how did I miss this

Well I am here now, so here goeeeees! So the colors you chose really turned out nice here in the end, although some of the darks may be a little too intense but who knows! The anatomy has a few problems but with no photo ref it is very good. Much better than I can do at least

The outline around her works really well in some places and not so well in others, maybe try a little more variety in the line thickness, maybe not. Back to color again, I just wanted to say, the hair is faaaaantastic, love the colors, love the shape, just great. The tat adds a perfect little touch and it is well designed. The cut off of her arm makes her look a bit like she is just missing an arm. I really like the glass but I think you overdid the hand a bit with the outlines. Background is nice. Nice job as a whole, I am glad you are putting work up again! Now if only I was making stuff again...

totally agree about the outlines! it's kind of not my thing, they're always too thick or too thin somehow.
also, yeah anatomy still isn't my thing either xD
it helps a lot to post and get the crits though

practice is everything, right?
haha the hair is my favorite part, too, it's pretty much the only thing about the picture that i'm happy with.

this is pretty good, if you're serious about wanting critiques then i only see one thing wrong with it : the length of the arm from elbow to wrist is way too short. that section of arm should be almost as long as the section running from shoulder to elbow. not that you always have to follow the rules, but sometimes it looks off if you don't...anyway, well done on everything else, i really like the texture in the background.
